Prospects & Opponents

Katie Hill and Republican incumbent Steve Knight were the winners of the 26th district’s top-two primary on June 5. This district was considered one of the most competitive congressional districts in 2016 and remains just as competitive going into the upcoming 2018 election. Cook rates this race a Republican toss-up. Rep. Knight is aligned with Donald Trump on over 95% of his votes and supports anti-woman policies such as repeal of the Affordable Healthcare Act and is against funding for abortion or health care coverage that includes abortion.
