Prospects & Opponents
Stabenow’s race is rated likely Democrat leaning by the Cook Report. She is being challenged by Lena Epstein, a businesswoman who co-chaired Donald Trump’s campaign in Michigan, and former Supreme Court Justice Robert P. Young, a Conservative Republican. In August 2017, Kid Rock gained support from Steve Low, president of the Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC formed during the 2016 election for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Low said, “we’d be actually very interested in his candidacy” according to Politico. MLive called Stabenow a “formidable campaigner” but Republicans are dead-set on getting as many seats in the Senate as possible.
