Betsy Rader is running for Ohio’s 14th District against Republican incumbent Dave Joyce. OH-14 contains all of Ashtabula, Lake, and Geauga Counties, in addition to eastern Cuyahoga County, northern Trumbull County, northern Portage County, and northeastern Summit County. Rader is a civil rights lawyer and healthcare advocate who is running for her first elected office.
Background and Achievements
Rader was born in Coshocton, Ohio and is a mother of three. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1982 and went on to earn her law degree at Yale Law School. She also holds a graduate certification in Healthcare Corporate Compliance from the George Washington University. Rader became a civil rights lawyer and served as the director of Geauga County’s advocacy program for abused program and recently worked to improve the quality and cost of care for Medicare and Medicaid in Ohio.
